Thank you for joining us for our 2026 Easter Egg Hunt at Sharon Baptist Church!

At our Easter event, everyone had the chance to take the Easter walk! Here is a quick reminder of that journey!

“Today you’re walking through the true story of Easter.
The story begins when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. This happened just a few days before He died.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 21 that Jesus rode into the city on a donkey. That might seem strange for a king, but it was actually a prophecy from the Old Testament showing that Jesus really was the promised King.
When the people saw Him coming, they became very excited.
They laid their coats on the road and waved palm branches in the air.
They shouted something very important
“Hosanna! Blessed is the King!”
“Hosanna” means “Save us!”
The people believed Jesus could rescue them. But many of them didn’t realize how He was going to do it.
Jesus didn’t come just to rule a city.
He came to save the whole world from sin.

“One night before Jesus was arrested, He had a special meal with His disciples. This moment is called The Last Supper, and we read about it in Luke 22.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread and said:
‘This is My body, given for you.’
Then He took a cup and said:
‘This cup is the new promise in My blood.’
Jesus was explaining something important. Soon, He would die on the cross, and His body and blood would be given to pay for our sins.
Sin separates us from God, but Jesus came to bring us back to Him.
Today, churches still take communion to remember what Jesus did.

“One of Jesus’ disciples was named Judas Iscariot.
Instead of staying faithful to Jesus, Judas made a terrible choice.
The religious leaders paid him 30 silver coins to betray Jesus.
Later that night, Judas led soldiers to Jesus in a garden. He identified Jesus with a kiss, and they arrested Him.
Jesus was taken to trial, but there was a big problem.
Jesus had never sinned. He had done nothing wrong.
Even though He was innocent, the leaders decided He should be punished.
Why would Jesus allow that?
Because He knew He came to take the punishment for our sins.

“Even though Jesus was innocent, He was sentenced to die.
He was nailed to a cross, which was a brutal form of execution used by the Romans.
But this wasn’t just a sad ending to the story.
This was God’s plan for salvation.
The Bible says in Romans 5:8:
‘God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’
Jesus took the punishment our sins deserved.
He willingly gave His life so that we could be forgiven and have a relationship with God.
Take this cross to remind you that Jesus died in your place.
But the story doesn’t end with the cross…”

“After Jesus died, His body was placed in a tomb. A huge stone was rolled in front of the entrance, and soldiers guarded it.
But three days later, something incredible happened.
When women came to visit the tomb, the stone had been rolled away.
An angel said something amazing in Matthew 28:6:
‘He is not here. He has risen, just as He said.’
Jesus was alive again.
By rising from the dead, Jesus proved He has power over sin and death.
Anyone who trusts in Him can be forgiven and have eternal life.
